VIMS After Hours lectures return to in-person format

The Virginia Institute of Marine Science will host an After Hours lecture on Dr. David Malmquist’s new book about exploring the Chesapeake Bay from 7-8 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 26. With this lecture, VIMS will be returning to the McHugh Auditorium at VIMS for in-person After Hours lectures.

For the past two decades, Malmquist has been writing about the Chesapeake Bay on an almost daily basis in his position as News and Media Director at VIMS. An avid outdoor explorer, he has also been traveling the Chesapeake Bay region, soaking up its rich heritage and documenting its flora and fauna.

He has now combined the two into the recently published book, “Chesapeake Bay Explorer’s Guide: Natural History, Plants and Wildlife,” which provides readers with ecological notes about various locations throughout Virginia, history of the bay region and its people, and what the bay may look like in the future.
