After a tough stretch of road games, including a 94-45 loss at Northumberland on Monday and a 113-30 defeat at Northampton the previous Friday, the Blue Devils came home looking to reset before the holiday break. Early on, Mathews did exactly that. The defense set the tone, holding Colonial Beach with a score of 17–8 leading into halftime.Junior Adam Greve led the way offensively, catching fire from beyond the arc in the second quarter. Greve knocked down three three-pointers and finished with a team-high nine points, giving Mathews a big boost heading into the locker room. Everything changed after halftime. Mathews’ offense went cold in the third quarter, managing just two points as Colonial Beach slowly worked its way back into the game.
