The Courthouse Community Orchestra will present a free concert at 3 p.m. Sunday in the Harry M. Ward Auditorium at Mathews High School to commemorate the nation’s 249 years since the May 15 creation of Virginia’s Declaration of Independence.Directed by USAF Staff Sgt. Jarrett Kocan, the orchestra will entertain with a cross section of familiar melodies. The Mathews VA250 Committee is part of a statewide commemoration effort preparing for the nation’s 250-year anniversary in 2026.The Courthouse Community Orchestra will hold its third and final concert of the season at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, June 4, at the Page Middle School Performing Arts Center, 5198 T.C.
