Trash to Treasure

Bay Quilters of Mathews holds a Trash to Treasure silent auction every year as a way for members to clean out unwanted tools and fabric from their own stashes and recycle them. The auction provides new quilters a way to acquire the tools of the trade at a reasonable cost while seasoned quilters often find just the right fabric for a special project. This year, in addition to the goods delivered during the annual food drive, Bay Quilters donated a part of the proceeds from this auction to Hands Across Mathews. Shown here are, from left, Bay Quilter and Hands Across Mathews volunteer Beth Smith, Bay Quilters’ treasurer Lynne Dreelin, and Joe Noolan, Hands Across Mathews representative.
