The Gloucester County School Board appointed Mitchel Thompson of Yorktown as coordinator of transportation during its April 9 meeting. The appointment was effective March 25. Kimberly West of Hayes was appointed as a support services employee, effective March 14. 

The board accepted resignations from Page Middle School language arts teacher Terri Penick, Gloucester High School special education teacher Jason Hamill and GHS English teacher Audra Vasiliauskas, all effective June 10. A resignation was also accepted from school psychologist Kristina Atkins, effective June 28.

Retirement was approved for Page math teacher Muriel Pickett and support services employee Teresa Emerson, both effective July 1. 

In addition, Abingdon Elementary grade three teacher Savannah Campbell and Petsworth grade four teacher Jennifer Worrell were both re-assigned as reading specialists at Abingdon, effective for the 2019-2020 school year.
