Tickets go on sale for ‘Dirty Rotten Scoundrels’

Tickets go on sale Saturday for the Court House Players production of “Dirty Rotten Scoundrels,” a musical comedy based on the popular 1988 MGM film by the same name. The show will be held at 8 p.m. Thursday through Saturday, Nov. 8-10 and at 3 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 11, at Mathews High School.

The story heads to the French Riviera for high jinks and hilarity that’s sophisticated and suave, but with a good dash of mischief. The show features a jazzy score by David Yazbek (“The Full Monty”) and was nominated for 11 Tony Awards.

Lawrence Jameson, portrayed by James King, makes his lavish living by talking rich ladies out of their money. Freddy Benson, played by Sheldon Roberts, more humbly swindles women by waking their compassion with fabricated stories about his grandmother’s failing health.
