Three residents to run in London Marathon

This Sunday, three local residents will be running in the virtually held (due to the COVID-19 pandemic) London Marathon on Little England Road in Hayes.

Gloucester veterinarian Samantha Eileen Stinson; her son, Andrew Patrick Hendrix, a VCU student studying physical therapy, and Elizabeth Call, who lives in the waterfront Little England community, will be participating.

In the fall of 2019, the three runners entered the Markel Richmond Half Marathon. After completing the race with above average finish times (Hendrix, 1:44:23; Stinson, 1:59:02, and Call, 2:00:23), they knew this wouldn’t be their last race together.

On Aug. 28, they found out they qualified to run the virtual London Marathon, a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. Since then, they have been training every day, running at least 45 miles per week.
