The power of nature

Katie Witowski, art teacher at Thomas Hunter Middle School in Mathews, submitted these Earth Day works from her students. “My students created sketches where they illustrated the power and dominance of nature over humanity by creating landscapes with natural elements that overwhelm the image,” she said. The works were created by, clockwise from top left, Eighth graders Emma Skaza and Lyla Duff, seventh grader Matthew Williams and eighth graders Rachel Rives and Lilliana Humbles.
