Thanks from Rudy Ruritan

Two events combined to make this year’s Valentine’s Day special for a number of people in Gloucester County. Henry Thompson is a Gloucester Ruritan who is recovering from cancer and thanks the staff of the Riverside Peninsula Cancer Institute and Infusion Center each year by delivering Valentine’s Day gifts while dressed as Rudy Ruritan, the official Ruritan Mascot. This year, he combined a unique effort from the Gloucester County Main Library, titled “Blind Date With a Book” program. Spearheaded by library staff member Amanda Leigh Hudgins, this program created “gifts” in beautiful wrapping paper which contained a new book of various genres along with a pencil for note taking, a tea bag, assorted chocolates and a candy cane for pure pleasure.
