Supporting the GHA

The Abingdon Ruritan Club recently made a $1,000 donation to the Guinea Heritage Association. The donation was presented on June 18 to the GHA at the Buck’s Store Museum on Guinea Road in Bena. Established in 1995, the GHA celebrates the people and traditions of a unique area of Gloucester, renowned for the men and women who work on the water. Shown presenting the check on behalf of the Abingdon Ruritans is club vice president Mary Lou Shepherd(second from left) to GHA vice president Rose Marie Smith. Also in the picture are, from left, L.T. Wells (a member of both the Guinea Heritage Association and Abingdon Ruritan Club) and GHA members Ginny Snowden, Sharon Zuber and (behind counter) Hamilton Williams.
