Supervisors suspend licenses of five Gloucester vape shops for suspicion of narcotics sales

At the request of Sheriff Darrell Warren, the Gloucester County Board of Supervisors unanimously suspended the business licenses of five vape and tobacco shops within the county due to suspected sales of Schedule I narcotics. The board took the action during Tuesday night’s board meeting in the colonial courthouse. “We started fielding complaints regarding our vape shops in the county,” said Warren, stating that this began last spring. “The complaints ranged from potentially underaged minors purchasing vape products to questionable items itself being sold.” Last summer, the GCSO narcotics investigators launched an investigation on the business practices of all of the vape and cigarette shops in the county. “Since that time, investigators have made several undercover purchases from each of these businesses,” said Warren.
