Supervisors discuss historic buildings preservation

The Gloucester County Board of Supervisors met Tuesday night in the colonial courthouse to begin discussions about restoring the county’s court circle historic buildings, including the building in which the meeting was held.
“This is an extremely unique courthouse site,” said Andrew Marshall, preservation architect with Michael T. Foster Architects, Inc. Marshall provided a presentation on the work needed to preserve the various buildings and landscapes located within the court circle, as well as the Botetourt Building (currently the Gloucester Museum of History).
Marshall spent a week thoroughly inspecting the buildings and their respective landscapes to help the county find ways “to preserve the buildings for decades to come.”
