Sunday is the deadline to submit applications for this year’s Guinea Heritage Association fine arts and photography contests. The fee is $30. The deadline to submit original works is Sunday, June 24, by 5 p.m.

This is the first year that GHS is holding two separate contests for fine arts and photographs, reflecting a large interest in the art contest.

The two contests are possible due to the sponsorship of the Fine Art Print Contest by Hogg Funeral Home, which has strong ties to Guinea, a release said, and is an advocate for the arts. Walls of the funeral home are lined with original artworks, including portraits of many Guinea residents.

GHA is extending an invitation to artists and photographers to submit original works for the fine art and photography contests, with original works in both categories capturing the Guinea spirit and culture, the release stated.
