Summer paddles held on Dragon Run

The Friends of the Dragon Run welcomes guests to participate in guided paddle trips on the “most beautiful river/swamp in Virginia,” a FODR release stated.
The organization is dedicated to preserving the Dragon Run which flows through Virginia’s Middle Peninsula. They host paddle trips to educate the public and to raise funds to protect land along the Dragon Run. In the summer, the Dragon Run swamp is particularly beautiful with the emergence of flowers, the release stated.
Paddle trips are available July 12 through July 29. Information and registration is available on FODR’s website, www.dragonrun.org. These trips are for persons 18 and older. A $60 donation is requested. Each kayak trip is led by a nature guide who describes the Dragon Run and its unique ecological significance. Guests will see the incredible range of flora and fauna during a three-hour paddle. No prior paddle experience is required.
