Strong music lineup featured at Gwynn’s Island Festival

This weekend’s 66th annual Gwynn’s Island Festival will kick off Friday evening with the annual chicken dinner at the Gwynn’s Island Civic Center. Saturday’s festivities will start bright and early at 9 a.m. with live music and much more.

Festival organizer Cricket Call said this year’s festival will include activities that will appeal to all ages.

A wide variety of musical entertainment is lined up for Saturday, including groups such as Soul Seeking Disciples, New Ranger, Suite 101, William Earl Sadler’s Group, Spreading Joy, and the Route 17 Band.

“The music is going to be the best we’ve ever had,” Call said.

This year’s pet parade is scheduled for 10 a.m., with registration starting at 9:30. Buttons the Clown will again be on hand for the pet parade.
