Seminar held at Ordinary business for new septic system

C.B.’s/Turlington Septic Service held a seminar Friday to introduce its newest alternative septic system option.

The Norweco Singulair 960, an in-ground system, is designed to reduce nitrogen entering local waters, which helps protect the Chesapeake Bay owner Chris Burress said.

Paul Cannon, a representative for Norweco, which is based in Norwalk, Ohio, spoke to a small number of health department officials and soil scientists Friday morning at Burress’s business at Ordinary. Continuing education credits were offered to those attending, as well as product information and refreshments.

The new unit has three chambers, and has an aerator to mix the water, Burress said. When the water is cleansed, it is not suitable for drinking, but is much cleaner than many earlier septic treatment options, he said.
