Mathews County School Board members listened to concerns about its transportation department, faced questions about the removal of a tree and sign from in front of Mathews High School and were asked about recent complaints about special education where the state found in favor of parents during a town hall meeting Tuesday night. The town hall was held in the Brooks Auditorium at Thomas Hunter Middle School, affording residents a chance to address school issues, something the school board does several times a year. The meeting lasted a little under an hour and a half with six people taking the podium. Bus drivers Several of those brought up concerns about the transportation department that is facing a school year without a supervisor following the retirement of Clyde Royals.
