SAR chapter holds year-end meeting

The Richard Henry Lee chapter of the Virginia Society of the Sons of the American Revolution held its final meeting of the year at the Indian Creek Yacht and Country Club, Kilmarnock, on Dec. 21. RHLC president Rick Frisbie presided over the meeting, his last as president.

First order of business was for Frisbie to call on Michael Rhodes to present a Certificate of Appreciation to R. Birt Cory of Kilmarnock. Rhodes, who was in charge of the RHLC’s grave marking on Oct. 3 at the Williams family cemetery in Mathews County lauded Cory for his assistance at that event. Cory had played “Taps” and provided an outdoor sound system.

After his last official act of an inducting Taz Carrington of White Stone into RHLC membership, Frisbie turned the meeting over to the RHLC nominating committee chair Don Smith to conduct the election of officers who would serve from now to the December 2022 meeting.
