Santa and Mrs. Claus paid an unexpected visit to the Powhatan Chimney neighborhood in Gloucester Point on Saturday morning, escorted by the Abingdon Volunteer Fire and Rescue Services. Eager to greet Santa on John Smith Lane were (from left to right) Charlie Pennington held by his father, Josh Pennington, neighbor Ella Bailey running in, Jessica Pennington holding Wesley Pennington, and neighbor Sabrina Bailey hugging Santa. Their Irish setter, Finn, was so excited, according to the Penningtons, that he broke the front door dashing out to meet the North Pole visitors.
