Sanders residents donate items to GM Care Clinic

Residents of the Sanders Independent Living Community in Gloucester collected donations of needed items for the Gloucester Mathews Care Clinic to honor one of their own neighbors this month.
Mildred Harden, a resident at Sanders, served as a volunteer at the GMCC from 2011 until the 2020 pandemic.
The GMCC, located at 6031 Industrial Drive in Gloucester, serves uninsured and Medicaid patients who reside in Gloucester, Mathews, and surrounding counties. The clinic offers low-to-no-cost medical and dental care as well as an on-site pharmacy, specialty referrals, and patient education programs.
To honor Harden’s spirit of service, her neighbors at Sanders collected supplies from the GMCC website wish list. Barbara Weldon, marketing director at Sanders, delivered office and hygiene supplies to the clinic this week. She said this donation is just the beginning for the Sanders community.
