ROBERTA DAVIS HUEY

Roberta Davis Huey of Ashburn, Va., passed away peacefully Monday afternoon, Sept. 14, 2015. 

Just shy of her 92nd birthday, she was born on Sept. 18, 1923 in Mobjack, Va., to Maurice A. Davis and Alice Healy Davis and grew up on Myrtle Grove Farm.

She is cherished by her husband of 61 years, Harvey Lee Huey; her daughter, Susan Bever and husband Bob; her son, Robert Huey and wife Susie. She is also greatly loved by her grandchildren, Sarah Bever, Emily Nichols (Nate), Daniel Bever, Wilson Bever (Bree) and her great-grandson, Ezra Wesley Harvey Nichols. She is also survived by her brother, R. Turner Davis; sister-in-law, Barbara Davis; sister-in-law, Joice Davis, and her many nieces and nephews who held a special place in her heart. 

She graduated from Longwood College, worked in Richmond, taught at Mathews High School, and raised her family in Bethesda, Md. Roberta had a lifelong love of Mathews and the beauty of  Tidewater and the community she knew so well. She considered her greatest accomplishment and legacy to be the love she had for her family 

The family would like to thank the staff of Maple Grove, Moon River and Christaline Wallace for their love and care during this time. 

A celebration of her life will be held Monday, Sept. 21 at 11 a.m. at the Great Oak Clubhouse at Ashby Ponds, 44755 Audubon Square, Ashburn, Va. 20147.   

Burial will be at Providence Cemetery in Bohannon, Va., at a later date.
