ROBERT DEWEY SADLER JR.

Robert Dewey Sadler Jr. passed away at the age of 83 on Oct. 15, 2015 in Richmond, Va.

He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Jean Craft Sadler; a daughter, Dawn Sadler (Leo Esp) of West Point, Va.; a son, Robert Sadler Jr. of Toano, Va.; grandchildren, Chance Sadler, Samantha Sadler and Ace Sadler-Esp; his brother, Guy Sadler (Orpha) of Myrtle Beach, S.C.; and sister, Ann Sweet (John) of Northeast Harbor, Maine. Also left to remember Bob are his very special sister-in-law, Frankie Ashley and her husband Jim Ashley. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, Dewey and Dorothy Sadler of Norfolk, Va.

Bob was a native of Norfolk, and a 1954 graduate of William and Mary College. He served 40 years as a chemist with Chesapeake Corp. in West Point until his retirement. Bob enjoyed life and could always put a smile on the faces of those he encountered. His home in Maine was a special retreat for him and his wife. He had a love of reading, music, archery, nature and riding the ocean waves! He was a life member of The Association for Research and Enlightenment. 

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 24 at Vincent Funeral Home, 417 11th Street, West Point, Va.
