Riverside Walter Reed Hospital earns top marks for patient safety

Gloucester’s Riverside Walter Reed Hospital has earned top marks as a Grade A facility for patient safety in the Fall 2020 Hospital Safety Grade scores released recently by The Leapfrog Group.

Also earning the designation was Riverside Tappahannock Hospital.

A release said The Leapfrog Group is an independent national watchdog organization committed to health care quality and safety which assigns grades—A,B,C,D and F—to all general hospitals across the country every six months. It is based on a hospital’s performance in preventing medical errors, injuries, accidents, infections and other harm to patients in their care, the release said.
