The Mathews Family YMCA hosted a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Tuesday, Oct. 21, for its new preschool at Westville Baptist Church on Main Street in Mathews.
The event, which was attended by several dozen community members, “marked a significant milestone in the YMCA’s mission to support early childhood education and strengthen community connections,” said a press release from Caitlyn Leavens, associate vice president of child care for the YMCA of the Virginia Peninsulas.
The celebration began with a welcome and remarks from YMCA leadership, followed by a ribbon cutting and tours of the new facility, said the release. Guests enjoyed light refreshments and had the opportunity to meet the dedicated team bringing the preschool’s vision to life.
