Twenty-four members of the Gloucester Retired Educators Association welcomed Dr. Amy Stamm of Gloucester County Public Schools to the monthly meeting on Sept. 25 and listened as she shared her background experiences, which include now working in Gloucester, where she was filling two roles that day, as director of Elementary Education and of Human Resources. She spoke on the improvement in the school system’s position regarding students’ progress on the Standards of Learning 2025 assessments and graduation achievements, including first place in Virginia’s Region 3, and 10 areas in which elementary and middle school students were among the top 10 in the state.
