Registration is now underway for the seventh annual Mathews Polar Plunge, which will be held on Saturday, Jan. 24, at 8 a.m. at Haven Beach in Diggs. This event is a fundraiser for Operation Christmas Child, according to organizer Amy Ashberry. You can sign up to participate in the plunge, or sign up to pledge to make a donation. “Any amount helps and is appreciated,” Ashberry said. “Those who are brave enough will make a pledge to take a dip into the frigid water,” she said. “You’ll be in and out of the water in a few short minutes.” Supporters are encouraged to attend and donate to show their support; there will be a donation bucket at the beach that morning. “We hope you will join us either to plunge or as a spectator,” she said.
