Too high heat will burn garlic; 4 leaves fresh basil, hand torn or small palm size, dry Italian seasoning rubbed in palm to “wake up.” If you want to use meat add it here. ¼ c. red wine Add above ingredients to oil/garlic mixture and turn heat to medium. Add: 2 large cans crushed tomatoes 2 large cans whole tomatoes with juice; hand-squeeze the tomatoes 1 small can tomato paste (optional) Bring to slow boil then lower heat and cook slowly for 1 hour or more.
