ANGEL BISCUITS “The children eat these just like they eat cookies.” 5 c. flour 1 tsp. salt 3 tsp. baking powder 1 tsp. baking soda 3 Tbs. sugar ¾ c. vegetable shortening 2 c. buttermilk 2 Tbs. instant yeast Mix and sift the flour, salt, baking powder, baking soda and sugar. Blend shortening and yeast into dry ingredients. Make a well in the dough and pour buttermilk into well. Mix all ingredients well and let rise about an hour. Dough will be sticky. Make off into biscuits and let rise a few minutes. Bake at 400°F. until brown. The dough “keeps two weeks in refrigerator.” DINNER ROLLS “I use a bread machine. Set machine for dough.” 3 c. flour 1 tsp. salt 2 Tbs. yeast 3 Tbs. butter, melted 1½ c. milk, room temperature 1 egg, beaten 2 Tbs. sugar If you use a bread machine, put liquid in first and then add the other ingredients. Let rise and then make up and let rise again about 1 hour. Bake at 400°F. until done.   CRAB CASSER...
