Reception March 6 for VA250 winners

Mathews County VA250 Committee will award prizes to the winners of its Poster Contest on Friday, March 6 from 5 to 6:30 p.m. at The Bay School Community Arts Center, located on Main Street in Mathews. The committee invites Mathews students ages 12-18 to enter their art with the theme “What It Means to Me to be an American.” The deadline to submit entries is Saturday to either art teacher Rachel Morris at Mathews High School or to The Bay School staff. Awards of $250 to the first-place winner, $100 for second place and $50 for third place will be announced and presented at the gallery show and reception. The event is free and open to the public.
