A new set of agreements recently signed by administrators of Rappahannock Community College and Old Dominion University make it possible for graduates of four of the disciplines represented in RCC’s Associate of Applied Science degree program to transfer easily to the corresponding bachelor’s degree programs at ODU, according to a RCC spokesperson.

"I am delighted that this agreement was signed," said Wendy Edson, director of RCC’s associate-degree nursing program. "It means that our graduates will have an easier transition to the Bachelor of Science in Nursing program at ODU."

ODU’s representative at RCC, Gloria Savage-Early, said the new articulation agreement allows applicants to enter the university as juniors using the AAS degree in nursing plus RCC’s one-year General Education Certificate as transfer equivalency credit, rather than the Associate of Arts and Sciences degree, which is the usual lead-in for transferring to a fo...
