RCC announces spring commencement plans

Rappahannock Community College will hold its 49th commencement ceremonies on Thursday, May 6 on the Warsaw campus and May 7 on the Glenns campus.

Each event will feature the RCC Pinning Ceremony for graduating nurses beginning at 10 a.m., followed by RCC’s graduation proceedings at 2 p.m. Dr. Matthew Brent, Faculty Senate Chair, will serve as this year’s Macebearer.

“This has certainly been a challenging year and I am proud of the commitment and perseverance our graduates have shown,” said RCC President, Shannon Kennedy. “While we are unable to hold a traditional ceremony, we are pleased to honor our graduates with a commencement event.”

Upon arrival, students and their families will approach in their vehicles with a ticket to watch the graduating student walk across the stage. Portraits will be available to order following the ceremony. To ensure the safety of all participants, the ceremony will not be open to the public and masks will be required at all times.
