Jane Wenner, Gloucester County’s Emergency Management Coordinator, was the guest speaker at the Sept. 24 meeting of the Gloucester Retired Educators Association, which was held at the DAV building in Gloucester. After visiting flooded areas in the county, Wenner arrived at the meeting to speak about hurricane awareness and preparation. She quickly shared a pair of quick “public service” announcements. The first was to remind educators of the lasting impression they leave on their students. She then shared examples of fond remembrances about Bobby Ray which had been told to Wenner by people with whom she had come in contact. The second announcement was shared on behalf of Gloucester County Superintendent of Schools Dr. Anthony Vladu. He is looking for volunteers to participate in an upcoming mentor program for teachers.
