Puller Center offers file digitization service

 

The Puller Center in Gloucester is offering a new service, digitization of files, which will be a two-fold benefit to the community.  

According to Sarah Bowman, director of marketing and development for VersAbility Resources, which oversees the Puller Center, said the new venture will not only fill a growing need in the community for preservation of documents, but will also provide additional work for those with disabilities who spend their days at the center.

VersAbilty secured a $20,000 grant through a Knights of Columbus charity, which allowed the upstairs of the Puller Center on Main Street to be remodeled. Now, the upstairs has four computer scanning areas, where workers can perform scanning work of any size or amount.

A dumbwaiter has also been installed to transport the documents upstairs to a secure storage area.
