Propane business expands in Mathews area

Elite Power and Energy Corp. of Delaplane is making its presence known in Mathews. The company has purchased the former Goodwin property at the corner of Pine Hall Road and Lovers Lane in Mathews for use as a showroom and warehouse for a new business, Mathews Propane.

Two years ago, the company purchased property in Cobbs Creek for a propane storage facility.

The 0.57-acre property in downtown Mathews houses Linda’s Diner, the former Cole Supply store, and additional space that over time has been occupied by an auto glass shop and various thrift stores.

Elite Power and Energy owner Kelly Tidwell said that the building that housed Cole Supply is being revamped to include a showroom for the sale of Kohler, Cummins, and Briggs and Stratton generators, Rinnai water heaters, and Rutherford outdoor kitchens. There will also be warehouse space, and Linda’s Diner will continue to operate at the site.
