A program on the Norden bombsight will be held at the next monthly luncheon buffet meeting of the Northern Neck-Middle Peninsula chapter of the Virginia Aeronautical Historical Society.
The meeting will be held on Thursday, July 17, at the Pilot House Restaurant in Topping, next to Hummel Field Airport on Route 3. A meet-and-greet will begin at 11:30 a.m., with lunch at noon, followed by the program at 12:30 p.m.
Rob Gates, president of the Dahlgren Heritage Foundation, will discuss the Norden Bombsight at the Naval Proving Ground at Dahlgren. His talk is a follow-up to the group’s May meeting showing the DVD on the 100 years of history of the Dahlgren base.
The group meets on the third Thursday of the month and holds presentation on current and historical civilian and military aviation interests. Everyone interested in aviation is invited to attend. For more information, email NelsonJody@verizon.net.
