On June 12, the Piankatank River Ladies’ Golf Association held its weekly competition at the Hartfield course. Winners of the Stroke Play, Gross Scores contest were:
First flight—Kay Stout (first place, 87), Martha Wiggs (second place, 87) and Nancy Pannell (third place, 92).
Second flight—Bev Tate (first place, 88), Ellen McGowan (second place, 92) and Judy Spain (third place, 96).
Third flight—Chong Hudgins (first place, 99), Karen Gorin (second place, 107) and Vicki Carr (third place, 110).
