Prize-winning cook passes on her talents

Her culinary talents will live on; Barbara Delozier is teaching her granddaughter, Mary Williams, and other young friends how to cook and especially how to bake.

"I guess I have been cooking since age 8," Barbara confided. "The first cooking I ever did was helping my grandmother make cinnamon rolls. All of my family members are good cooks. We would start baking at Thanksgiving for Christmas. My father would hunt and we would bake. I still bake my Christmas gifts."

Barbara became interested in the Gloucester County Fair cooking competition in 2008 after reading about it in the newspaper. She entered some of her recipes and received several ribbons. And this year, "I was determined to win the top prize." And she did with a cake recipe she created herself, King Dulce de Leche.
