She is a long way from her home in East Africa, Kenya. But Carren A. Ouma found a new home in 2021 when she joined her husband who had been in this country since 2016. “I am the wife of Pastor Fred Ouma Okello of Central United Methodist Church in Mathews.” They have four children: one son in the Navy, a daughter pursuing a nursing career, and two sons who are students at Mathews High School. Carren, besides being a wife, mother and chef, pursued her own career as a teacher’s assistant at Mathews High School. After two years Carren was given her own classroom teaching math. “I’m excited to join Mathews Elementary School to teach seventh grade math.” Carren holds bachelor’s degrees in Bible/theology and education with a master’s in education.
