GRANDMA SMITH’S CREAM CHEESE POUND CAKE
All ingredients should be at room temperature.
8 oz. cream cheese
3 sticks butter
3 c. sugar
3 c. flour
6 eggs
1 Tbs. butter flavoring (or other choice of flavoring)
Cream together butter and cream cheese; then eggs, one at a time. Add flour, then flavoring. Pour into greased and floured tube pan, place in cold oven, then bake at 300°F. for 1½ hours.
For Chocolate Marble Pound Cake: Add ¾ c. chocolate syrup to ½ batter mixture; swirl; add remaining batter.
GRANDMA SMITH’S MACE POUND CAKE
2 c. sugar
4 eggs
Mix together:
2 c. flour
1 tsp. baking powder
½ tsp. salt
1 tsp. mace
Bring to boil:
1 c. milk
1 stick butter
Cream together sugar and eggs, adding eggs one at a time. Add dry ingredients; add alternately with milk/butter mixture. Pour into greased and floured tube pan. Sprinkle batter with topping of one tablespoon sugar and one teaspoon mace. Bake at 350&...
