Planning Commission to discuss food truck ordinance tonight

The Gloucester County Planning Commission will meet at 7 o’clock tonight, Thursday, March 5, in the colonial courthouse to discuss a proposed ordinance amendment that would allow the operation of permanent food truck venues in the county. During the Nov. 6 planning commission meeting, Small Town Burger owner Jay Wolfson and local commercial realtor Mac Houtz requested that planners consider an ordinance to allow permanent food truck venues in Gloucester. Mobile food trucks are allowed to operate under the current ordinance as long as they continuously move around and are not required to have a specific zoning permit. The proposed ordinance amendment would allow food trucks to establish a permanent location through a conditional use permit application process with stipulations.
