Kate Lambert, who has traveled extensively abroad as a freelance photographer, recently opened a photography-based studio at Hallieford.

A grand opening for the business, Kate & Company, will be held from 6-9 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 30.

The new business is housed in the former W.E. Broaddus General Merchandise store, adjacent to the Hallieford Post Office. Lambert uses that space to display some of her works for sale and has a studio in a small building to the rear.

Lambert runs the business by appointment only. She goes to clients’ locations for picture taking, with an emphasis on environmental photography using natural settings.

Besides taking photos, Lambert offers chic event design, such as providing photos from when a couple posts an engagement through the wedding. Websites can house all of the wedding plans, she said.
