PHA gets ready for eighth year of Project Comfort and Joy

Peninsula Heating and Air, White Marsh, is about to kick off its Project Comfort and Joy, where a deserving resident is chosen for a new heat pump system with installation free of charge.

According to Karen Smith, who owns PHA with her husband Steve, this is the eighth year their company has sponsored the program. So far, she said PHA has provided seven local homeowners with HVAC systems free of charge, at an estimated value of about $56,000.

Smith said PHA will begin accepting nominations and applications for the program on Wednesday, Nov. 4, and will take them until 5 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 10. Individuals can nominate themselves or someone else, she said.

The nominee must own his or her home and the home must be within PHA’s service area, Smith added. The home must also have an existing ducted heating/cooling system that is in reasonably good condition.
