Personnel changes approved for Gloucester schools

The Gloucester County School Board appointed Theresa Till of Newport News as a special education teacher at Abingdon Elementary for the 2017-2018 school year during its May 18 work session. 

The board also approved several position changes for the 2017-2018 school year. Achilles Elementary assistant principal Raymond “Jesse” Dutton moves to assistant principal at Page Middle School, replacing Butch Gross, who is departing. 

Abingdon Elementary vice principal Mary Beth Preas will replace Dutton at Achilles and Petsworth assistant principal Elizabeth Galbreath moves to Abingdon to replace Preas.

Also, Robert Parsons, supervisor for online learning for the GOAL program, will become an assistant principal at Gloucester High School. GHS guidance counselor Jon Neblett leaves that position to become a business teacher at GHS.

In addition, school division instructional supervisor Bess Worley II was named the director of assessment and evaluation.
