Several students qualified to compete in the schoolwide spelling bee at Peasley Middle School recently. Participants included, top photo front row from left, Ricky Morrison, Trinity Carpenter, Lauren Chapman, Alyssa Davis, Nayelee Cruz-Velazquez, Hayven Melendez, Caleb Ponce, Will Robinette, Pheren Tench; back row, Molly Walters, Peyton Worrell, Eastin Hogge, Joseph Harper, Seth Thompson, Abby Brooks, Natalie Nortness, Devyn Hurling and Marcos Puente Rosario. Grace Baptist and Ryan Clay also participated, but are not pictured. Puente Rosario, an eighth grader, was declared the winner after 15 rounds. He will represent Peasley at the regional Scripps Spelling Bee in February.
