Morse Enterprises, Inc., recently completed renovations on part of the building which once housed a car dealership on Main Street, Mathews, and has relocated its headquarters there from Port Haywood.

Owner Ian Morse started the business in Mathews in 2001. He and his crews specialize in new construction, additions and remodeling. They take on residential and light commercial jobs.

Morse said that he sometimes splits his workers into two or three teams to tackle smaller jobs or brings them all together for larger framing jobs. A new addition is office manager Kevin Brophy, who joins a staff that includes five construction crewmen and a part-time bookkeeper, Cathy Johnston.

Morse is originally from Virginia Beach. His wife, Lisa, helps occasionally with office work. They reside in Mathews with their daughter Annalise, 8, and a son Franklin, 5....
