Palette Pals reception tonight at Arts on Main

A reception to celebrate this year’s Palette Pals artwork will be held from 5:30-6:30 tonight, Thursday, March 12, at Arts on Main, 6580 Main Street, Gloucester. It is free and open to the public. Second and third grade students in the Gloucester school system participated in six weeks of extracurricular art classes, and have had one piece each on display at the gallery over the past week. Many of the student artists will be at the reception to learn which ones received “Best in Show” awards, based on decisions from a jury comprised of art teachers from the elementary schools. Palette Pals is Arts on Main’s signature educational program and is one of the arts organization’s Youth Art Enrichment programs. Founded in 2011 in one elementary school as an after-school enrichment program, it is now an extracurricular before-school program and has expanded to include all elementary schools.
