‘Painting on Feathers’ topic of next YRGC meeting

The York River Garden Club will meet at 10 a.m. next Thursday, Feb. 12, at Bethany United Methodist Church, 1860 Hayes Road, Gloucester Point. Light refreshments will be provided. Space is limited for this program; call Cindy Cromwell at 301-919-2168 to RSVP or if you have other questions. The program will be “Painting on Feathers,” provided by Roni Navroski. The art of painting feathers dates to the 1600s when Aztec Indians and explorers used feathers to document their journeys and stories, a release stated. Navroski, renowned for his exquisite feather paintings, will offer guidance and expertise as you create your own masterpiece. YRGC’s December 2025 meeting included a pairing of herbs with foods. Each member of our club provided a dish to share. Chef Jay Calkins researched and pulled from his extensive culinary experience to pair herbs to the dishes provided.
