Old and contemporary pieces featured in March 7 NNO concert

The Northern Neck Orchestra’s March 7 concert, the third of this season’s five performances, will bring together an energizing combination of old and contemporary compositions ranging in style from 19th century Romanticism to 21st century gospel with some 1940s swing in between.
The evening features compositions by Carlos Simon, Adolphus Hailstork, Felix Mendelssohn and James Johnson.
The concert at the Lancaster Elementary School auditorium, 191 School Street, Kilmarnock, begins at 7:30 p.m. and will be preceded by a pre-concert talk at 6:45 by Music Director Michael Repper.
