All courts, county offices, and libraries in Gloucester and Mathews were closed on Wednesday, Dec. 24, and will remain closed Thursday and Friday, Dec. 25 and 26, for the Christmas holiday. Mathews Memorial Library will additionally be closed Saturday and Sunday, Dec. 27 and 28. Post offices in both counties closed at noon on Wednesday and remain closed today, Thursday, Dec. 25. DMV customer service centers closed at noon Wednesday and will remain closed through Friday, Dec. 26. Schools in both counties began their Christmas break on Monday, Dec. 22, and will reopen on Monday, Jan. 5. Waste facilities in Gloucester closed at 5 p.m. on Christmas Eve and remain closed on Christmas Day. The Mathews Transfer Station will be closed Christmas Day only for the holiday. ABC stores in both counties closed at 6 p.m. on Christmas Eve and will remain closed on Christmas Day....
