An Occasion for the Arts returns for its 53rd year in Merchants Square, Williamsburg, on Oct. 1 and 2.

The event features the works and performances of artists and stage performers, and includes youth activities as well.The festival is free to attend.

This year, a first-time preview, An Evening for the Arts, will be held on Sept. 30. Those purchasing tickets will be able to shop early, and to listen to music from the band Good Shot Judy. Food stations will be set up from surrounding restaurants.
